Rendermedia
Is it worth having a Realtime Forum for google Earth & microsoft Virtual earth there are loads of apps out there from Quest 3D, to Blaze 3D, Google Earth and Virtual Earth not too mention game engine apps out there that people can place their building into. I am more interested in using these apps, for textures and placing models back in them, (Once I have figured this out!) Any thoughts? bjornkn
I would love to see a Google Earth forum. I actually found this message after a search for "Google Earth", and it only returned 54 posts. So I guess there aren't that many using it here?
Rendermedia
I agree, I think realtime has a prominent role to play in Arch Viz, I have client who drools at the thought of having their models in Google earth that allows them in meetings to explore fleely and discuess design etc, kind Regards Mark
bjornkn
Oh, I wish I had such a client I've been trying several times to convince clients that GE could be a good choice, but so far I've only managed to get a few GE/panorama jobs with existing buildings. The last one is at http://www.agder.fhs.no/panorama/ BTW All modeling was made from photos, and all panos are pure photos too.
Rendermedia
3d buildings in google earth are an extra, bolted onto the Photomontage shot, it just allows the client to see a project in a much wider context than a 3d still image, without the need to do any intensive highend 3D as its not used for marketing purposess.
