Nils Norgren
We have posted a new demo reel, it is not live on our site yet but I thought It would be cool to release it to the community first. The compressions are rather heavy, the smallest is about 14 megs, the middle size is 65 megs and the large (not kidding) is 101 megs, the large size is download only because it is all in HD. Please be patient, and crank the music when it starts. http://www.neoscape.com/clients/demoreel07/ I will be teaching a Masterclass for Autodesk during Siggraph, and will be going over many of these projects and showing some of our 3ds Max workflow for the projects that are in the Reel. Masterclass schedule link: http://www.autodesk.com/mini-sites/siggraph2007/classes.html#mc10 Enjoy! -Nils Norgren

Nils Norgren
wish I could have gone the Siggraph!! you guys can't maybe get the class on video one stream it after the event?? Autodesk has said they are taping the class and they will consider making it available. stunning architectural visualization, but am i missing something ? isn't it a car advert ? It does resemble one, we purposefully made it short and dynamic, we tell our clients that making a film (like this) should be a way to get people's attention. If you want to get information about where the kitchen is in relation to the entrance, then show them renderings and a plan. If you want to grab their attention, don't give away too much. This demo attempts to do the same, not too much information but just enough to get someone interested. I like to think that there is a difference between storytelling and documentation, a storyteller often intentionally leaves out information, only to reveal it later, or withhold it to let the viewer interpret it for themselves. Thanks again, glad you guys like it, -Nils

Thanks again, glad you guys like it, -Nils i totally agree with that concept - you don't need to hit them over the head with a hammer every time. i think it was the logo that confused me (looked like lexus or toyota) with the car at both the beginning and end i thought that might have been the message ? Koper
you don't need to hit them over the head with a hammer every time. but most of the time we all want to The demo reel is like a very very good movie trailer in every sence! Cant wait to go see it!
Nils Norgren
i think it was the logo that confused me (looked like lexus or toyota) with the car at both the beginning and end i thought that might have been the message ? Yes we get that often, the logo was designed back in 1997, and it was dimensional, (like a car logo or medallion). Most of the time it is used as flat color. I built a maxscript that makes the logo with one click (just to see if I could), feel free to check it out. -Nils
tecton3d
Neoscape's work is always great and this is no different! I really enjoy the faster pace the editing brings to this piece. Your studio's work inspires me enough to think about a directional career shift... hmmmm bravo Nils!

alfienoakes
Hmmm... I love it when I see something that brings me back down to earth with a thud... Couldnt really see what was CG and what was real, apart from the fact that in real life buildings dont get put up that quickly... Great job. Nils Norgren
Thanks for all the kind words, I should re-iterate that all of this work is created by a great team, with many artists, creative directors, project coordinators, designers and sales. If there are any questions about specific shots (amount of cg) fire away, obviously there are many shots of green-screen actors, as well as helicopter footage. Most everything else is CG.
