Need a night backdrop sky

forgive me in advance... had no idea where to stick this thread....

I'm having difficulty locating a backdrop texture for a specific scene I'm working on. I've got a rooftop pool that I'm working on (nightshot), the client wants to see the stars and sky shining above... with the moon. The pool is 11 stories up, and all you would see is dark residential rooftops in the distance to the horizon.

I've been trying to shoot it myself off of a nearby garage its on the edge of the city so theres too much glow to get any decent star visibility, and the moon isn't in the right place.... but when does a client ever care about that right???

Not to mention ohio's weather stinks.... doesn't want clouds in the sky, and I don't want some overly dramatic pink/orange sky that looks like the apoclypse is comming.

I do a have a decent budget if I have to purchase it, but I'm not happy with what I've composited so far... so if you know if any libraries or free sources along the lines of what I'm looking for I'd totally appreciate it.

(wow that could have been said in 500 less words)

not sure exactly what kind of source images you are looking for, but NASA's website used to have some super high res shots of star and moons that you might be able to fade a city skyline into. not sure how natural they will look since they are shot from space.

actually, i just looked around there site, and i don't see the ones i had in mind.

the ones i remembered were kind of like the link below, but better.

duhh..... call it dumb luck? the day i whine noob style for help I take the dog for his end of the night walk look up and see the sky I've been waiting for....

something must be off with my monitor settings cause the color mapping isn't comming out of photoshop right.... but I'm getting there. I'll probably go back and add the moon into the scene to get the right reflection off the railing and water.

But it's getting there..... (thx for the stars ts)
