agolk2
I am trying to import a bitmap in max which contains text and when I import it into max, the text is all pixelated -- I've tried creating the jpg in hi res and it still doesnt work. Is there any trick to this i'm missing?

agolk2
No it didn't. Perhaps I am not explaining myself adequately. I am attempting to import this bitmap into a material. Here is an example of the image -- notice the blocky stature of the letters? I do appreciate the attempt though.
Crazy Homeless Guy
is this only in the viewport, or oes it look like poop when you render it?

Vince Paske
How "hi-res" is your hi-res? Don't use jpeg, use a non-lossy format like a .tif. Did you just take the jpeg and enlarge it? My suggestion would be to create the image with the text at a resolution of no less than 2,000 pixels wide, save it as a .tif and see how that works.
