FancyPants
*Note Machine A is a dual Xeon (4 proccessor threads) 64-bit system running Windows XP/64 Pro, and Machine B is a Dual, Dual Core Xeon (8 proccessors threads) 32-bit system running Windows XP Pro. Problem 1: machine A will not load spawner correctly. When started, the spawner begins to load max and we see a copy of max (untitled) pop up in the task bar, but then it fails to switch to vraydummy90.max, and immediately kills itself. This event repeats itself over and over until we exit the spawner via the system tray. Problem 2: machine A fails to properly send out distributed jobs to a 32-bit machine. The vraydummy90.max will be properly loaded on machine B ready to receive the job. When the job is sent everything appears fine, V-Ray finds the appropriate machine (B), the DR machine begins to load the job, then we get a V-Ray warning that the render host is unknown and is not responding. The spawner on machine B then quits and restarts vraydummy90.max. (I have attached an image of the V-Ray messages received durring this situation) Any help would be great. alias_marks
Using viz or max? Sounds like the standard problem you get when trying to use DR with Viz. Check out this tutorial - http://www.vizdepot.com/modules.php?name=Content&file=viewarticle&id=66 As far as the 32 v. 64 bit compatibility, don't know much about that one. hopefully you'll get someone to chime in and figure that one out. Good luck, DR is great if you can get it to work, but there are some headaches along the way
