louis.cho
Hi I am facing a problem with a Mental Ray Sun & Sky system. It's the first time I use that kind of lights, I usualy use a skylight+HDRI with a MR Spot. The scene is build for both exterior and interior animation. My problem is that there seems to have no shadow cast by the sun, there is only a light and diffuse shadow. The shadow option is turn on with defauly settings. I would love to see a precise and contrasted shadow, how can I do it? EDIT: after some others test(push up Sun multiplier to 10 or turn it off) , it's seems that it's the MR Sun who doesn't affect the scene. I can't understand it. any ideas? thanks
Justin Hunt
Keep the MRsun at 1 and use exposure control What happens if you turn in the "Inherit from Sky"? Dumb question but is the building set to cast shadows? JHV
louis.cho
The building can cast shadow(not a so dumb question) and the ground can receive. Inherit from Sky doesn't change anything. the problem is that the Sun doesn't work at all. I can turn it completly off and it's make no change. how can I thurn the sun On? I made a test, a new scene, simple geometry with a single MR Sun. Physical sky to see the background. You can clearly see that the scene is black, the Mr Sun don't light at all.
