Luigi ascione
Hi all I have posted few question about a model i am working on and my problem is to get a good and realistic looking glass of this tall building in the scene.I have tried to play around with various enviroment option available in material editor and texture sky but seems that nothing works. Any suggestion? It will be an animation so i cannot fake the reflection in photoshop. Any suggestion really appreciated. thanks
Luigi ascione
stiil me I would also be happy to get a glass thet looks like a glass and no reflecting sky. In lightscape is very easy to get it. see attached image link http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=lp_test_01_1.jpg
siliconbauhaus
you might want to try this for getting your glass material setup http://www.jonseagull.com/downloads.shtml#arch_glass have a look at the site as well....the guy is very good at rendering as far as animation goes...if you map onto a dome then your reflections will change as the animation progresses hope it helps :angeuhoh:

visualasylum
good reflections is based on the environment. To speed up rendertime, you could use a falloff map, with reflections and environment. The use of HRDI these days is the best option, than using reflections. But it requires you to understand it thoroughly. Good luck. Greg
ingo
The best option is still to render a reflection pass, so you can easily experiment with your reflections in your compositing program.
