Cesar R
Does max 5 or viz 4 support HDRI? or is there a way?
Jeff Mottle
There was some discussion about this a few days ago. ingo
Well "supporting" is only that they can open the files, which they can. But AFAIK both rendering engines are only 32 bit, so they are not able to really use the advantage of the 128 Bit format. But i think we should take a close look at ILM's OpenEXR which is now open source and works fine with my first tests, i hope the software developers support this format soon so we are able to exchange these files between different softwares. abicalho
The 3dsmax/VIZ renderer is 64 bits per pixel. You can output to PNG, RLA and RPF at such bit depth. Also, RPF, in MAX 5.1, allows you the option to save 32 bit float per channel. Alexander
