Aaron2004
Hello, I have battled with this for a while and I finally found time to ask a question when it came up. I want to extrude the highlighted polygon out to form a step...but doing so will force it to overlap with the face to it's right. What is the cleanest way to extrude this? I know it's really no big deal if it does overlap, but it makes the model feel more chaotic and when I unwrap the UVWs to export it to a real-time engine, it just makes it more confusing. Thanks! JonRashid
Extrude it and the polygon to its right. Then you can weld the vertices on the right that are not necessary.
foxlee
or delete polygon to the right and extrude first polygon then weld end vertices. Or the reverse, delete the step polygon ,cut right hand polygon on desired step line and extrude that part across deleted polygon to end and weld. There is no fast way to do this. Aaron2004
Cool...thanks guys. All those suggestions are what I have been doing before. I was just hoping that one of the many options in the 'face' subobject would help out. Guess not! Thanks. Aaron
