ndundiz
Max 8 and Vray: I would like feedback on some settings I could change that would improve this image. There are no custom textures and I have simple lighting with minimal settings currently. It was originally rendered on a slow computer, but now I have a monster! XPS 710 2.66 Core2 Quad 3 RAM GeForce 8800 GTX So max settings are welcome...thx in advance!

aldofarias82
well i want to help but first let us know what are those minimal settings you are using, simple lights? i think you are more focused on talking about your new pc than your scene
3dSol
hi that is looking very good, you might want to change the position of your sun and see if you can get more interesting shadows good luck!
ndundiz
Aldofarias82: perhaps you are right…I might have been bragging a bit on the computer, but essentially I wanted all of you to know that I was not worried about bogging my computer down w/ settings. This is my first 3D graphical rendering that I will get paid for and I want it to be good. With that aside…my lighting scheme consists of one Omni and one directional. 3dSol: I appreciate your input and will experiment with the lighting direction. Thank you! aldofarias82
its nice to have new equipment, i just wanted some info about your scene well i think you should make it work! here is what i think: -take a closer screenshot (so you can see some detail) -if you have vray 1.5 change your lights for a vray sun. increase subdivs. -boost your antialiaser (veryyy important in a good render) are you using GI? ndundiz
I would like to create a closer shot, but the client wants an overall perspective of the entrance to the rest of the building. I could expand on the resolution, but I would not be able to post that image here. The file would be too large. I had to change the image size on this one just to get it to load. I use Vray 1.47.2. Is that 1.5? How do I utilize Vray sun? Do you know of a tutorial I can learn from? Doesn’t Vray factor in GI automatically and you just adjust the settings?
