mitchrichie
3D architecture is just a hobby for me but I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on this image? http://www.ragusmedia.com/loft10.jpg The subject and composition is based on a piece by Aaron Coon. He was kind enough to send me the couch model. Everything else I modeled in Maya 8.5 and rendered with Maxwell. Maxwell Physical sun/sky is the only light source. Thanks. tanni
I think Brick size a little problem. You have to take care about Arch texture. Lighting are excellent.
Andy Park
nice image, Watch those arches over the windows though, it would not have the standard brick texture. it would probably run with the angle of the arch, you may want to model these as individual bricks. Stephen Thomas
The best way to deal with arches like this is to draw a shape of the cross-section of your arch i.e. the end face of your brick and sweep or loft it along the curve of your arch. Make sure you check the 'generate coordinates' box in your modify settings, this way the UV coordinates will naturally follow the curve of the arch and you won't have to apply a UVW Map modifier. The 'generate coordinates' along with 'real world coordinates' are also a great way to apply mapping to more complex shapes where a simple box mapping would cause the mapping to be elongated on planes which were at an angle to the box. You would also have to change to real world coordinates in your material settings for each map: diffuse, bump etc. Hope that makes sense! Sorry, just noticed that you're using Maya, not Max. Hope the same applies!

Conor Clancy
Looking nice. As everybody else says, the bricks are the only problem. The arches over the windows have been covered, so I'll talk about the walls. Those bricks are HUGE. A brick is only about 60mm high.
