Tommy L
Hello guys, I am using Vray physical sky, sun and cameras for an animation. I would like to use the sky for lighting, but would like to replace the map that renders as a background and as environment reflections (gaffer wants some clouds in the render). Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks, Tom.
JamesTaylor
that should be pretty straight forward Tom, off the top of my head its just a case of putting the right maps in the right slots... use the vray sky map in the GI environment, use the map for relections in the reflection and refraction override slots. i think you'll need to render your scene with the vray sky set as the background to have it act correctly in terms of GI... so to change the background to the image / animation i think it'll be a post action, if its an animation a second quick pass in scanline and alpha should be sufficent. mahorela
Hi Tommy you just need to put the vray sky map in the GI override and your background in the standard environment map slot. You can leave the reflection and refraction override as vray will just use the environment map if you don't force the override. hope this helps
