Dave Buckley
I am creating a model in Revit Architecure then importing into Max 9 to do some high end visualisations, the model is of a public toilet scene, i am looking to create a mirror material in max 9/mental ray 3.5, and also a glass that you may find in a window of a toilet, like the frosted glass effect kind of thing, the glass needs to look dirty, imagine an old traditional pub that isnt very well looked after. Any tips?
studio2s
I would start with the A+D materials in MR. That will get you 3/4 of the way there. A few maps should get you the rest of the way. If you post most samples or progress we can help more.
Andy Park
recently i've used the cellular map as a bump map for frosted glass alongside the mr arch & desgin frosted glass. for a more customised look try using a bitmap (something like lots of flowers or swirls you get the idea) and use a displacement on your glass, this can look real good. If I get the time I'll try to post something.
