Arnold Grove
Hi folks, Im a newbie so I tried to search for this answer before posting...not quite there. Im doing an interior scene with no exterior light source...a completelty closed room. I think IES is my best bet for this. Im trying to recreate a TUNGSTEN FILAMENT 750 watt bulb. Its a large gym area...but I cant find the right IES web file for such a bulb. Im looking at Lithnia and a few others but I cant seem to find what i need. Would anyone be able to point out the right source file? There are so many on ..as i say..Lithonia...so many... also another qustion...what type of lights would one use in a scene like this for putting fill lights along with your ies lights for a natural feel? I would assume that you should use maybe an area light for soft fill???? One more I downloaded the IES viewr but dont see the B&W little wndow where you see the light on a balck wall...all i see if data thanks for your help... ag

Thablanch
For .ies stuff, Erco is a good choice. I do not know if they have what you are looking for, but there database is quite huge, worth a little look. to view the .ies file itself, take a look at the bottom of the page, there are 3 links, one of them is a viewer, the other one is an editor, so you can tweak it yourself if you need to. http://www.cgarena.com/freestuff/tutorials/max/ieslights/index2.html hope it helps... chiquito
I agree with alain, go with Erco, the have their whole catalog of ies lights for download, free. with all calculations and decays. You will probablyy need a graph of the light you are trying to recreate. They have an application, I think its called dali, whith it you control your lights, so it shouldnt be difficult to recreate that bulb. Good luck M.
