Setting Up Sky - Radiosity & Reflections

My apologies if this has already been addressed, but I need to see if I can get some assistance setting up my sky.

I'm using Viz4, with 1 sunlight, radiosity processing, exterior scene.

I want to get reflections on my windows, and have the best sky possible in my image. Do I need to use a dome with the sky mapped onto it? If so, how do I setup the parameters for it? When I added the dome, and turned off cast shadows and receive illumination, it made my image extremely blotchy.

Can someone give some detailed tips on the steps to create the best sky possible in an exterior rendering that will give reflections on glass, as well as a realistic image?

Thanks,

Eric

Eric,

I don't know if you have gotten this working yet

Now, are you using raytraced materials? What I do is set the Environment to the bitmap I want to use as the sky(usually using Cylindrical Environment mapping, then I set the exposure control to Logarithmic and set the value to the value of my skylight.

I hope this helps, if not, let me know and I'll go back to Viz 4 and do it step by step, I've been using Max 5 mostly now.

Good luck,

Jeff
