3dmax.ini where it goes? Im on Max9 and need a text based config file to add a path

Hi, i need to add a new folder path on many "network render slaves PC" Like we did in the past using 3dsmax.ini where you could change 3dmax setting using a text file.

 

per example you add a line like this to add a new path

 

[bitmap]

Dir1=\\yourserver\yourtexturefolder

 

I found out it doesn't exist anymore. How can I do it in Max9 without opening max and add the path via "configure user paths".

 

I cannot access those render slaves because I didn't activate them.

So I can't open Max to add the path, so I need to do it via text file configuration.

 

Any Help Please more than welcome.

Hi, I found out there is a 3dsmax.ini topic in the "3ds max reference" at "Getting STarted with 3ds max" sub menu.

 

But I think this is old and they didn't update the max9 reference.
