Render window just renders as noise

I've just got a new machine with Vista, I read all the posts and installed Max 9 with SP2 and the new Vray 1.5.

 

I set a model from my old machine off at 700 pixels wide in the VFB and it renders great, how-ever when I set it to 3000 pixels wide it just renders as multi coloured noise. I can push it to about 2000 pixels and it still renders the image but anymore and just noise.

 

I have no idea whether this is a Vista, Max or Vray issue....... does anybody have any idea what might be causing it to do this?
