between automatic and logorithmic exposure

control?

 

also, which should be used often?

The VIZ4 help explains the differences very well, but automatic is automatic, the computer controls the RGB intensities. I think it is safe to say that most people using VIZ4 use the logarithmic exposure control because it gives the user the most control over the exposure in the final image.

as a rule of thumb: never use automatic in an animation check out the manual why!

hi nisus, I dont have the manual bc I bought an educational version from Journey and i only got the CD ( was i suposed to get a manual??) anywa can you tell me Y not use the automatic exposure control?

Does the educational version not come with the online help file? Generally speaking, anything you can find in the print manual will be in the help file. There will also probably be more information in the help file than in the book. I think I remember reading my print version and seeing numerous times where it said "for more information, refer to online help file" or something like that.
