i like that response. im using windows xp64.

Im having tons of problems, but im starting to believe the issues are the result of faulty administration rather than buggy software... for example, the paths in autocad were set to my old machine causing tons of issues. i assumed it was the 64 bit, but as i began to dig deeper i realized the incorrect path settings, fixed them, and now autocad works fine. i still have some other weird stuff going on outside of autocad and i wondered if this could have happened someplace else.... so i began looking at the system paths and this is where i noticed it. this made me wonder if the guy told me he put intel chips in but really put AMDs in.

Or use CPU-Z - that will give you very specific info. My suspicion is that it says AMD because Microsoft got samples of AMD's 64-bit implementation before Intel's EMT64, hardwired that in (from what people who have seen the Windows code base tell me, that would be a perfectly normal thing to have happen) and didn't change it when Intel (finally) got their stuff out.
