d7man2000
How can I reset settings of 3ds Max? I can't open any scene. I checked Memory Usage under Windows Task Manager and I noticed that Max memory for Max gets to a certain value and nothing above, usually memory increased as scene is opened. In this case memory stops and Max crashes. I don't know what happened, I never had this issue before. I didn't change anything either. I also use Vray Any advice would be greatly appreciated Kris. Joseph Petrino
Switching the display driver from direct x to open gl has worked for me in the past. I think older builds of vray have a problem with some direct x drivers.

d7man2000
no that's not it, i tried all of them, software,opengl,direct3d In Windows Task Manager, maximum memory usage is 169 MB, i don't know why it stops, it should go up, because it doesn't , computer crashes, I don't know if it software or hardware or what it drives me crazy because i can open a scene on a different computer
tommyjj
it's definitely all scenes not just one? i've had problems with textures corrupting max and have had to move the texture to another directory to stop it crashing... other than that, try saving the max file as a 3ds on another computer then import it on the problem computer failing that... are you running different versions of max on each computer? tommyjj
have you checked the amount of free space on your hard disk? if it's clogged with shite then there wont be enuf space for virtual memory to work... have a look at your computers allocated page file size?
