three point lighting

Three point lighting is using three lights to emphasize the three dimensional feel of a scene.

There is a key light - the main light - and a couple of fill lights.

In general -- what you want is to highlight your main subject and give a feeling of variation of light without strong areas of shadow.

The fill lights mimic the bouncing of direct light.

The key light is the one that casts the shadows. It is the dominant light.

Never use 3-point lighting in arch viz. it looks bad. If you're not using advanced GI plugins like vray or mental ray, then try to learn good "fakeosity" techniques.

Look for them in the resources>tutorials section of this site.

3 point light not to exterior (gi) - may be you can use it in interior and also for product model rendering.

can u give me any site where i find good tutorials for light ..

Try this one mate, http://www.itchy-animation.co.uk/light.htm

It's a good one for lighting in general, not pecific to any one program. If your budget allows, buy Jeremy Birn's book "Digital Lighting and Rendering, 2nd Ed." This will teach you everything you need to know. It's a good idea to get it when you're learning, so you will form good habits, not bad habits when lighting.
