Hi all....

good to b back again after a brake...

hpe every one is doing well....

recently someone in my team asked me wat will b the difference when we render an exterior image with vraysun, direct target light and sunlight individually...????

i gave it a try but i couldnt find any major changes when i rendered an exterior image first with vraysun next with direct target light and next with sunlight.

i have put vray normal settings for this purpose and all the lights had vray shadows.

so can u guys tel me wat will b the changes in the view when we render by using these 3 lights individually......

and also please suggest which light wil b more appropriate to render an exterior view keeping the effects in mind......

Cheers

nivas :-)

by the way forgot to tel u .......normally i use direct target light for my exterior renderings and the view cme out well.......so plz suggest me wat light i would use to make the view more natural to see....

cheers again

if you like it with your direct light and it comes good , then dont break it .... with vray sun and sky ...you have to go through the LWF way in conjunction with vray physical camera ....lot more variables but the result looks great IMHO

Any chance you could post your comparisons?

I use direct light/environment most of the time, maybe 4 out of 5 time on exteriors and LWF sun / sky /phys cam for the other 1.

Often I get feedback from clients that they don't like the coloring of the sun/sky, whereas I really like it.

Interiors are another matter however!

all methods have their own benefits and disadventages..... and is not only the light the one that affects the final result.... environment, sky and shadows are important too... the result will be a combination of them. I personally use IES Sun with Vray Shadows and HDRI for environment, and I have nice results, however in my vray training I learnt that is better Vray Sun in conjunction with VRAY SKY. and I know that the Target Direct you are using.... is very good too... I think all methods are ok if you use them correctly. Good look...
