Hi guys. this the first post. I am stumped with this one. My client has designed an exitibition pod like build. I have modeled the shape as closley as possible from the plans. The shape was easy enough. But the client also wants the splines on the pod etxtuded as on the render. I cannot use my splines on the mesh because they have been morphed to fit the shape. I have tried using a tile uv map on box and rotating it for that specific view. but it is ireguglar and inconsistant on the object. How can i achieve this?

ANY HELP WILL BE GRATFULLY RECIEVED

Hi, seems like a tricky one to achieve...

Never done it before, Can only think on one clean solution, what I would test to see if it works.

if posible, would be to make an uwrap uvw map http://www.anticz.com/texture.htm

and after this, you can apply your texture with a Vray disp map. should work fine.

I think in nurbs you have something caled "project curve", I dont know how well will it apply to the lower piece you have.

I hope it helps

if you do find a solution, would you mind sharing?

good luck

Martin

(renders are design development models not finished visuals)

attached is the solution i have used for the regular diagnol mesh on the organic shape. For renders 1 and 2. Its is the extruded mesh is simply a map uv planar rotated on both axis used with diplacement.

for render 3 and 4. the client request that facade now became etfe (google image "watercube")

This was done by simply cloning the organic shape and adding different customized diplacement map to each.
