skala67
what a horrible disco reference, but i have a question. I have created the interior for a new dance club, and the client wishes to fill it with people dancing. As a matter of fact the clientele is primarily hispanic. Now I have been searching the interent for good images of people and groups of people, primarily hispanic, dancing. I have learned that this is a hard task, because everyone likes to take pictures of people dancing from the thighs up, or from a level above the crowd. I have told the client my predicament, and they said a good alternative would be to imply the movement and energy of the dance club. My question, does anyone have a good stylistic idea of how to create such a mood or image? or even if someone has any other ideas of how to create a good energetic dancing feel to the space it would be much appreciated... I will attach an image when i get back to my work computer, but i figured id throw it out there now.. cheers,
jsf
Try using silhouettes of people dancing, but instead of having them a dull transparent gray incorporate colors that might be used in the clubs lighting system. Don't use any specular highlights or glare on them (too cheesy). And, maybe, try some blur on them. The advantage of the silhouettes is they can be race, fashion, and status neutral, allowing the viewer to super-impose those things themselves. jvlive
great idea, jsf. I could imagine it as something cool like the ipod dancing silouhettes....
jsf
jvlive, you've got the idea. It's hard to be original when everything has been done before. skala67, you might consider introducing a couple of glow sticks and using the blur on them. skala67
Thank you much for the advice. I like the look alot better than if I were to use actual people. Now lets hope the client buys off on it. Here is the result. Break out that I-pod. Cheers

jvlive
i feel that your foreground is a tad "in your face". ...but this thread's about adding people, I think that turned out real well. Maybe i could use this technique someday.
