abustraan
In a second part to another thread that I've started: http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/25873-renderers-current-system_numthreads.html I've figured out how to assign affinities to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th cores of a Quard Core processor remotely for the Distributed Renderer (DR) functionality of V-Ray, unfortunately even though I've manged to get the DR service to appear to start as a system service remotely, when I begin to render a scene it does not respond. My intent is that since the DR Service may need to be started and stopped on a remote system and I can control that remotely then I don't have to have the users of the remote systems restart the DR service for me. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can actually start the DR Service remotely and have V-Ray Utilitize it correctly? Thx in Advance. manta
If you're running the spawner as a service, doesn't it start automatically when windows starts ?
abustraan
Yes, but there have been times when the Spawner Service is corrupt and needs to be restarted. I'd like to give the ability to the user setting up the distributed rendering to stop and restart a remote spawner service without having to go to that computer, interrupt another user, i.e. remote desktop or otherwise. Thanks for the reply.
