Im getting bizarre rendering results.

This is definitely NOT a GI problem or a shadow problem as I get the same result with shadows off and GI off.

The model is big, (400m across) but Ive dozens off these before and no problem.

The model was created with sketchup...dont know if that has any bearing

any help greatly appreciated

btw Im using vray 1.5 rc 3

A week ago I was given some sketch up files to render in max/vray. I had the same problem when I rendered the models.

After an hour of turning layers on and off and doing test renders I moved the model up/z-axis just a little bit. It did the trick.

I hope this works for you too.

cheers

Seems like the plane is overlapping with another plane or it has no thickness. Probably has a extrude value of 0.00.

Either

1. Give it some extrusion

2. Make sure its not overlapping with another plane

3. Under the global switches tab set the secondary ray bias to 0.001

Hope that helps
