RobMc
Having seen a few requests for good yacht models, and seeing the kind of quality available on turbosquid, I've decided to compile a good quality/low cost yacht collection. The models have been created in Modo and then imported into max (max8 and max9), mesh-smoothed and Vray materials added to save setup time. Mesh quality can be adjusted using the mesh-smooth iterations value. I've also exported these to OBJ format so users of other apps can still utilise them, although your app will have to deal with Ngons. (actually it'd be good to get some feedback from people who don't use max). Also included are deck caulking and boot top maps. All the models are based on modern yachts so your marinas will look up to date. I'm planning to create models in the following categories- 1) Small yachts 25ft-50ft 2) Medium yachts 50ft-80ft 3) Large yachts 80ft-130ft 4) Super yachts 130ft+ Started on the 'Medium yacht' collection first as I think these will probably be the most common size. Any comments will be gladly received! The FREE model is the 53ft sailing yacht. Enjoy!... and post your renders! Website = www.pixelcream.com Rob. RodT
I had to refresh the page, the flash hung up but then it loaded upon refresh. Got it and it fit right into a project I'm working on... Thanks,

RobMc
Thanks all for your comments. Looks like I'll have to re-look at the navigation a little and try and get the initial flash 'hanging' sorted. The menus on the left hand side haven't been activated yet (0-50ft etc) there's nothing to go in them at the mo - but I'm working on it Thanks again for your feedback! RobMc
okmijun - if hitting the refresh button a couple of times doesn't work then, I'm guessing, you may have an older version of the flash player? I think the latest version is 9. Otherwise I'm out of ideas...
afterglow
great work, but u might have to reduce your prices as there's a new archmodels collection of 33 watercraft for only 99euro the lot. i think if u do price them competitively they will fly out the door because it is hard to find good quality individual yachts etc.
RobMc
Thanks for the tip-off Steve. Had a quick look at their website/pdf and I personally feel their geometry isn't quite right on some of the hulls/details especially window scale/detail (but I would say that wouldn't I... ) but a couple of them look respectable. I think used as mid ground objects they would work very well, although I don't feel the need to match them in price at this stage.
