edub Posted September 10, 2007 Share Posted September 10, 2007 C4D does have snaps. you can access them with the "p" hotkey during modeling, and they also become active in the Attributes panel (3rd tab) when you activate the move, scale or rotate tool. edub Posted September 12, 2007 Share Posted September 12, 2007 Admittedly, the C4D snaps could use an overhaul. Your best bet is to use the 2.5D snap (constrains your points to the reference plane, regardless of where you snap to in depth). I've successfully used imported illustrator (v.8) linework, snapping to endpoints, and sometimes midpoints, as necessary. It takes a little time to get comfortable with, but works fairly well.
