nivvu
hi all... i have a very urgent question...... 1) Which image file supports rhino 4 beta for the material applications like jpg,bmp etc. I have tried to apply the materials which I use in Max 8. It shows lines in render image. Also want to know fast method for adjusting UVW co-ordinates & size of the map & the gizmo alignment. 2) I am not getting the purfect tool to fillet the surfaces. I am modelling a bolt Which has surfaces to fill I am attaching the image of bolt. I have tried fillet tool & all the options in it I am not getting the result I want. 3) I am working in feet & inches. If I import the file of dwg in rhino & If I check the dimensions it gives in inches only not in feet inches Why ? cheers thanks in advance nivas
Fran
Hi nivas, hi all... i have a very urgent question...... 1) Which image file supports rhino 4 beta for the material applications like jpg,bmp etc. I have tried to apply the materials which I use in Max 8. It shows lines in render image. Also want to know fast method for adjusting UVW co-ordinates & size of the map & the gizmo alignment. For textures, Rhino supports bmp, tga, jpg, jpeg, pcx, png, tif, and tiff. To control UV mappping, select your object and in the Properties dialog, select Texture Mapping from the pull-down. When you check Show advance UI, you have the option of showing or hiding the mapping gizmo. You can move, scale and rotate the gizmo to control orientation. 2) I am not getting the purfect tool to fillet the surfaces. I am modelling a bolt Which has surfaces to fill I am attaching the image of bolt. I have tried fillet tool & all the options in it I am not getting the result I want. Be sure to set your tolerance small enough in the Units section of the document properties. You also select the units display there. When you create a new scene, you have the option of using a template that is for small objects in inches. Use that one. It will have finer tolerances. There is also a hidden command called FilletEdgeOld that will often fillet an edge that the V4 command will not. You can try that. 3) I am working in feet & inches. If I import the file of dwg in rhino & If I check the dimensions it gives in inches only not in feet inches Why ? cheers thanks in advance nivas See if setting Distance display in the Units options fixes this. Fran
Hi sanjay, It is difficult to see what is happening in the attached image because it is so small. For specific modeling help, the Rhino newsgroup is a very good resource, with many skilled people who are very helpful. There is a web version too. You will find it on the Rhino3d.com site under Support. My modeling skills are intermediate at best, so I'm not much help troubleshooting an issue like yours. nivvu
Hi Fran, Thanx very much. I read your first mail & I realised that If I open the new file with smallest unit the filletedge tool works properly. I have solved the problem doing the same. Since I am a max user for long time & suddenly I am working on rhino it is very difficult to set the mind. Still I am acheiving the things that are needed. Thanx again. Regards, sanjay.
