rotten42
^Ya...still on Lighbtscape. No time to play with studio just yet. I did however set up generic layer names so that everytime i go to a new finish scheme I just import the new finish material set and they are already assigned. I wish I could cheat more and not have to re-shoot the IS files but ther material scheme are too contrasting to do that....bummer!
rotten42
Are you allowed to show us some of the renderings? when I'm done I'll post a few....
creasia
I'm sure your layer structure is saving you a lot of time. It sounds like you probably have a good workflow going by now. We also save a lot of time with layer assigned materials when we import a bunch of dwgs into the same white background scene, copy the camera, use global lighting and throw in a single light for shadows. Just some brain storming. Shaun
ovzoc
LIGHTSCAPE! OMG!!!!! And you have to do polygon cleanup also ? I remember Lightscape does not accept double edges or polygons huh? Man I hope that you get everything in time!
shaneis
On a side note, I wish our Canadain dollar would settle down. I get paid in US funds. Just convert it all to yuan and hang on to it for a couple of years...money back!

rotten42
do you have an sick time you could cash in at your day job to help ease the work load??? Yes...I plan on taking a day off from the day gig to work at home. If I have a whole day open I can pound off 15 renders using three machines. rotten42
well....i'm done! If you count the re-dos because of changes after I was a week in, I did 142 renders in just over 4 weeks. I'm taking time off. I don't want to even look at my computer for the next couple of weeks. On the good side, it sure felt good sending off that invoice tonight!! rotten42
Here you go. They aren't anything special. They are for a online catalgue for the company's ales force. Biy, did I learn a lot on this project on how to cheat my work flow to get things done.
rotten42
108 render in 21 days is possible and easy to do if you know the technic. well...I gues it depends on the program you are using. I wouldn't say this was an easy job to do using Lightscape. It also depends on your time. If I was doing this as my only job I would have have the whole day to work on it. IN that case, sure, than that bad getting done in 3 weeks. However, this is my home business after I finish my day job, so I would work from 8-5, visit with the family until 7:00 and then render each night to 1:00am. That was not easy to do for over 3 weeks. Brian Cassil
108 render in 21 days is possible and easy to do if you know the technic. I have to believe that you assumed he was doing this full time, which he was not. This was a side job and a monumental task. Please read the thread before posting in it. Brian Cassil
You don't have to show or tell us that you have 108 item to render.... if accept the project, you have to do it quietly... unless you need helper in this forum to do it for you. I was interested in seeing how this progressed, and am glad he created this thread, as were others I think.

Clearly some people were interested. I think it is better to celebrate these kind of jobs so people know that they are out there....and that there is oppotunity in different areas of this field.
