VRAY in VIZ4

I just downloaded the VRAY free plugin, and am trying to put it to use to speed up my raytraces. Only problem, none of the stuff I'm working on is coming out looking as nice as it was with the default renderer. I rendered a sphere, and it looked great! I rendered the new competition model with a daylight system, and it looked like crap. Any suggestions?

Hey, Eric!

When using VRay, use the VRay Light or the standard spots. Daylight systems and other Viz stuff don't work really well with VRay. For instance, the Shadow Maps always give an error message (v.1.0, anyway). Using the proper VRay stuff (shadows, lights and material) you'll see how powerful it is!

Not really, but you can change the shadow type for a VRay shadow. As I said, if you're using the Sunlight system, you should as well delete it and use a regular target direct light instead.

Personally, I prefer to use the regular spot lights with VRay shadows activated, but that's me...

If you need anything, just scream!
