fareen
Hi there I am using Vray to render a areal anim where the cam is flyin down to the building and i wanted to know if there is any tried and tested method of creating fog in the horizon of the scene so it looks more real? Like clouds in the far BG
edgy_k
This is typically the kind of effect you should include in post rather than render directly within vray. I would render a Zdepth pass to serve as a mask for the fog. That way you will get your fog done much quicker and with total flexibility.
fareen
Hey Thanks do u have any idea how much % will the render time increase if u render the z depth too
edgy_k
I can't tell you how much % render time would increase (but if someone has precise values that would be interesting... just for the record). Anyways the difference in render times when adding render elements is insignificant.
Koper
none what so ever, except the time it takes to save the image. with every render all elements are created. you just need to specify that you want it in a raw version as well
