STRAT
i'm using windows through bootcamp on a mac and all is well, except photoshop cs2. it works, but vital keyboard operations are restricted. ie, the function keys dont work. and the cursor arrows dont function for detailed work. i've tried 3 different keyboards. has anybody any suggestions? am i missing a setting in CS2 maybe? thanks
AJLynn
You don't have a "special" copy that you got from a "friend" or perhaps an internet source that discounts just a bit too much, if you know what I mean, do you?

jucaro
why buy a pc version of cs2 and use it on a mac?
AJLynn
Well, I've had CS2 for Windows run fine on Bootcamp, and so did a couple of other people I knew in school (Juan: the reasons for doing that were that they don't make it particularly easy to go from the Windows version to the Mac version if you already have the Windows version, and it's only been fairly recent that the Mac version's gone Intel native) but I've seen the problem you describe before. It was several years ago when a bunch of people in one of the other classes, who all had Dells, all installed the same "alternatively sourced" Photoshop CS and didn't have keyboard shortcuts. With that and other issues, most of the got frustrated and bought student copies, which weren't expensive anyway. It leads me to believe that keyboard shortcuts are in a DLL file or other module that it's possible for the installer to screw up and not install properly. Have you tried uninstall/reinstall, install from another disc or calling tech support?

BrianKitts
everything works fine on my macbook pro running bootcamp w/ cs2 although off the top of my head I'm thinking about how bootcamp installed drivers for the keyboard and most specifically the function key. Are you using standard keyboards or are you using an apple keyboard.... I'm wondering if that would make any difference.....
Scott Erstad
Not an answer, but this thread intrigues me... Are people running max 9 on this type of station? Mac book pro with boot camp or Parallels? If so, how are things working out? Thanks, Scott http://www.andersonillustration.com

STRAT
i'm finding bootcamp on a mac is a wonder and a joy to behold. i get to use the beloved pc software i'm accustomed to, with the added advantage of the better, faster, more stable mac platform. but, make sure you have a 64 bit pc o.s., else you'll be limited in the amount of RAM you can use. everything about bootcamp makes me smile, except for the loss of use in photoshop cs2 Dibs, all will soon be revealed
AJLynn
Now check out VMWare Fusion. Plays nice with Bootcamp and 64-bit compatible. Not sure about Bootcamp plus 64-bit.
