bjeves
My company is looking to build a better texture library for our architectural visualisation department. I see there has been a lot of talk about many different products and would like to hear which one you think is better from your experience. We use Viz2006, and Vray. Such packages as total textures, arroway, dosch design, etc. thanks in advance for your reply
Jonathan Chambers
Arroway would have my vote. They have a good collection of materials that are great for architectual renders.

jophus14
You should break it down into what you are looking for. There are a ton of sites out there that offer textures for free, but like I said, it depends on what you are looking for.
Jim Mann
For plants, trees etc I can recommend the absolute textures library: http://absolutetextures.com/landscape-architecture.html I bought my copy about four years ago but still use items from it regularly. Arroway textures are really good too although they could do with some new libraries, they have been very quiet lately. For people, have a look at http://www.got3d.com/index.html there is a good range of people in terms of dress, lighting and poses. Dosch, I use the skies all the time and would definitely recommend them...but don't touch the dosch plants with a barge pole, they are awful. And of course, the best textures are probably going to be the ones that you create yourself. You get the right material, to the right scale and they fit your job perfectly!
