Bar interior

Hi all,

I'm working on an interior visual of a bar and I have a few things i want to achieve but i don't know how to go about it. Any feedback, tutorials, suggestions would be much appreciated. :)

1. I want to make the hanging lights look like they're on. i.e. the material to glow

2. I want to make the bar and the back bar display (where the bottles are) glow like it's internally lit.

I've attached the file and a render.

Many thanks in advance

Greg

you can put an output material in the diffuse channel to get some lighting shader, then in photoshop or some other 2d app, make it a little glow, the same thing goes for the back bar, some time post work is the best way to get those results IMO.

I second trino : when it comes to adding glow, glare, bloom, etc... then postprocessing is the way to go.

Now for the practical side. If you manage to have your glowing objects stand out of the rest of the image you can then easily select them in photoshop and apply your glow. But given the number of lights you have there I'd recommend you render an additional pass for them to make your selection easier.

Ok, attached is a bigger version of the scene.

Thanks for all your feedback! :)

I've managed to adjust quite a few things in the scene, its getting there.

I struggled with that tutorial to make the buttons on the chair though, i couldn't get the diagonal cuts to work well??

I now have a problem with the back wall, the colour has over saturated. Any ideas how i can tone this down so its more like the purple/burgundy in the centre?

Whats the best way to create an environment outside? should i just create a plane with an image on it?

The glow still isnt working very well, i've played with the post effects and they just look ridiculous and unnatural. It works pretty well for the ceiling lights though. Maybe just using photoshop is best??

Any crits are welcome.

Cheers
