Screen Shot Needed

because it would just be logical to give some explanation of why you need it. By just saying gimme gimme, it sounds shady. Like you may want hi-res screen caps for designing dodgey CD covers for warez distributions of all these programs. I'm guessing you're the guy asking for them on Maxforums.org too.

I don't think it's unreasonable for people to ask what you need it for.

not in Dustin's defense.

why would Dustin be asking for screenshots if he's gonna be using it for warez distribution when he already has the warez to install and do the screen capture himself?

But still, an explanation is most welcome as to why he needs a screen shot at that resolution.

Yes that's me on max forums. I thought that if I hit more specific forums I might have better luck getting shots for certain programs.

I don't have bad intentions for the screen capture. I guess if you guys don't want to trust that then that's your prerogative; I'll just have to get it some other way. Unfortunately there isn't a demo available for VIZ, or at least I haven't been able to locate one, otherwise it wouldn't be an issue - Id take care of it myself.

Anyway, I welcome any help I can get.

Regards,

Dustin

Not to be rude or anything, but why do people always ask that? As if I might have some evil plot up my sleeve - try to take over the world with a screen shot.

I just think its funny.

Anyway its for a project Im working on.

Its just one little screen shot and it will take some kind soul less than a minute to capture and send.

Thanks

Does anyone know if the VISAGE of an applications' GUI is under some sort of legal protection from being displayed without proper approval?

If so then I can understand your reluctance, but I've never heard of such a thing. I see people posting screen shots all the time without having any problems.

As for contacting discreet or AD about it, they would probably want to put my intended use of the screen shot under a long and exhausting microscope before inevitably telling me no, so what's the point.

Anyway, I'm obviously not going to get any help here.

Thanks anyway,

Dustin

Geez, I guess Jeff was right after all! If someone asks a simple question or makes a request they won't be accused of being a thief, will they!!!!!!

Dustin I don't use viz or I would be happy to send you a simple screen shot, sorry.

A simple explanation as to it's use would probably have prevented this. Keep that in mind next time you make a request.

Hello Dustin,

You may want to try the following link direct to Autodesk. Then have a look through their website. The images are small and may not be of any use, but it is a place to look for free.

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/section/0,,1042004-123112,00.html

I will look through my own files and see if Autodesk includes anything else with the software.

I cannot help him. I work for Autodesk, so I directed him to the press channels.

I do not know why he wants the screen grabs. It could be for a noble reason, or not. He could work for a competitor, or could be writing an article, etc.

Also, screen grabs of the interface is a very very loose request. Just the empty interface? With panels and dialogs (Medit, Floaters, etc open?) An interface containing a nice model?

It all depends on the use he wants to make of it.

Also, he could have contacted Autodesk or a reseller and installed a demo copy of VIZ and taken as many screen grabs as needed.

Alexander
