edgy_k
He certainly talks about vrimg2exr utility wich allows to convert vrimg files to more usable exr ones.
Lhanh29
Use the "VRImg to OpenEXR Converter" through Vray. Sorry, can you show me how to do with that. Thanks
gfa2
You need to use the Vray frame buffer (instead of the max frame buffer) and then choose to render to Vray's vrimg file format. That process will write the image to a file as it renders it, saving your RAM. Then you will either use the vrimg2exr tool to convert to exr (that can be opened in Photoshop) or you can view the vrimg in max by clicking 'File' then 'View image file' in max. chow choppe
two questions When i use vray frame buffer the bucket size gets very small how can i make it big and secondly where can i find this vrayimg to exr utility
jophus14
Sorry for the late reply. Check the attachment for the Bucket Size location. To get to the OPenEXR..........Go to Start on your computer, All Programs, ChaosGroup, Tools, and then VRImg to OpenEXR Converter.
jophus14
When you open the VRImg to OpenEXR Converter it'll look like the attachment. After the line that reads C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Viz2007 or Max\Plugins\tools> type: vrimgexr(space)C:\name you want file to be.vrimg(space)C:\name you want file to be.exr(space)-sRGB Example: vrimgexr C:\InteriorHall.vrimg C:\TestRender.exr -sRGB I would recommend NOT using spaces inbetween the file names like I did in my example. When the file is finally saved to the destination that you picked it'll show up as a EXR file. Double click this file and Photoshop should open. Resave the file as a Tiff or Jpeg once in Photoshop. If anyone sees anything wrong or indifferent with the way I explained this method of using the OpenEXR, please add to this post. It's quite simple after you do it once. dagor
Use Leley`s script vrimg2exr_GUI. It give you graphic interface for vrimg converter. If you set your bucket size bigger - it takes more memory.
