the day that rem came (Koolhaas that is)

U know what is to get a boost. may be ur engine needs to be serviced, u take it to the mechanic and vrroooomm u're off. that can best describe the engine that drives some of the students of architecture at the University of Lagos, NIGERIA that were able to be in the presence of Mr. Rem Koolhaas. He had a meeting with prof. john Godwin and ended up having an unofficial meeting with the students.

 

Though an alumni, i was with prof.. Olusanya the day before when he received a call, from Kunle Adeyemi (OMA staff) and in the conversation that took place i heard certain keywords, like Rem Koolhas, department, tomorrow and just like the CIA in Bourne Ultimatum, i ensured i made myself available at the scene.

 

his vist was definitly informative. he came around as part of his ongoing studies of lagos, that despite the derilict situation lagos was in, it has continued to grow defying most existing models of city growth.

Oh guys, one more thing for those of us architects in nigeria, he'll be coming back to lagos in november to show some of his current works. so look out.
