djohnson129
Hello, I'm pretty much finished with this project. I just need to find a good image for the environment and maybe add a window frame to the rectangle window above the two chairs. Does anybody have any final suggestions on what to add for the final renders? Do you like the camera positions I have? In Test22 I'm going to pan the camera a tiget to the left. Thank you for your input ;D
Ernest Burden III
Its a picture about un-even lighting. Re-think the sun angle and introduce some interior lights.
Aaron2004
Yeah...I agree, you need interior lights. Right now the rendering looks slightly depressing...like the power went out or something.
djohnson129
Thank you for the help The evenness of light has been something I couldnt get right from the beginning. Where do you have in mind for the interior lights? Above the stairs? Are you speaking of spot lights or like a directional light going downwards just to brighten up everything? Devin Johnston
Everything in shadow needs to be brighter but the one thing that's hurting your image the most is your background. If you don't have a good image then just go with a white background, the one you’re using just doesn’t look good.
Koper
all of the above, and i would make the floor tiles much smaller and mabye a bit lighter than it is now, thinking about it, maybe the carpet texture as well
djohnson129
Thanks again for your help. The first thing I worked on was the shadows; you guys agreed that they be lighter, so I tried doing that so I increased the softness by 15 units. I wasnt sure if thats what you meant or if I needed to changed the actual color of the shadow to a lighter shade. Well I couldnt find the setting that changes shadow color for the daylight system so I just changed the softness. So then I tried using a background image and it obviously looked horrendous (first time trying it), so today I'm going to spend some time in photoshop to make the perspective fit better and perhaps model a deck just outside the windows. O and I also changed the tile size ;D My questions right now are: did you guys want me to change the actual shadow color to a lighter shade? If so, how can I using the daylight system? Also, I found tutorials showing how to load an environment map but those renders looked really bad and so I figure those are just bad tutorials. Does anybody have a more professional tutorial for putting environment maps in the scene? The tutorial I found suggested using a spherical map but it just looks so distorted. If you read all of that then thanks a ton! :DDD

djohnson129
Ok so I finally got the backgrounds in. Each one is a different look and feel, so please let me know which camera view is best and what I need to change about it. I may have went overboard in photoshop so if they look bad I'd be happy to hear about it ....and they're small cuz I had to resize them to fit the KB limit :/ Thanks yous! manta
Sorry if I'm reading that wrong...but is that a door that people open and dive into the water ?
kiittea
My 2 cents - correct your camera angle first. I would be helpful in adjusting the perspective of the bg
djohnson129
Here's the finished one....or the farthest I got. There's a thread in the Finished Works forum I've been posting in, I havent been on this one in a while.
