jano
I am would like to build and overclock a budget system for 3d graphics...I want to buy a new mobo for $100-150 and gpu for $250 tops must have at least 256MB...is there any point in getting an sli or crossfire board so in future I could increase the graphic processing power for 3d work, texturizing and such? tmrx
i'm pretty sure that an SLI setup won't help you out with 3D work. the GPU will help your viewports, but not rendering. the processor will help you with the rendering part. you're better off with a faster processor and more RAM. if you're going to game then by all means go with the SLI. tmrx:cool:
shaneis
Don't bother with SLI for 3D apps, just buy a better GPU card - the 8800's are the greatest thing at the moment.
