navi Posted January 29, 2003 Share Posted January 29, 2003 i am working between autodesk arch. desktop 3.3 and viz and don't know what determines the insertion point of imported cad elements into your scene. basically i want to be able to import elements into the correct place in my scene to save valuable moving time. help! quizzy Posted January 29, 2003 Share Posted January 29, 2003 Well between Autocad and MAX it works as follows: Your reference in MAX is the 0,0 point of the world UCS in autocad, So the 0,0 point in max and Autocad is the same. When exporting w-blocks from your drawing it allways has the 0,0 reference point when imported in MAX. It does not matter if you select a different insertion point. So if you are importing different drawings be sure to have set them up with the same refernce point 0,0 I think ADT and VIZ work the same way....
