List of pending works that need to be done. not with hand but some software maybe for desktop that u can see on ur desktop wallpaper something like active desktop calender ( which is too complicated ). Any other option for that 2.) How do you keep record of your payments that come to you or go from you and that come from a specific client always. Is there any software for that Any help wud be appreciated from you professionals Thanks
Matt Clementson
1) Nothing complicated here - we have a whiteboard in the office that we write our tasks on - that way everyone knows what everyone else is/should be doing. 2) Invest in some accounting software. I can recommend Sage but there are cheaper options such as Quicken or QuickBooks.

Limbus
Almost every morning when I come into the Office I make a small list on paper with the tasks that need to be done this day. During the day I check the list and strike thing I did. For long term projects I use my Palm and some Project management software. Florian
Phabz
You can use Outlook to keep track of your tasks. You can categorize, set reminders... it is pretty cool. For keeping track of $$$, I would agree with Matt and invest on a good software package, such as Quickbooks. Hope it helps
rotten42
I use a daytimer for daily notes and Oulook for scheduling. I use Quickbooks for the payments.

Crazy Homeless Guy
we use the tasks area of Outlook. it works well because you can add detailed notes, hot links to directories, and send tasks notifications to project coordinators that have the same information that you do. we have the task list shared so that anyone on our team can modify it, and check things off as the are completed. Dave Buchhofer
for tasks I use this free todolist tool daily for my own personal (programming) work, and occasionally to divvy up work in a small team (visualization) http://www.codeproject.com/tools/ToDoList2.asp can be pretty well customized to many things, and is GREAT for me as a hierarchical 'notepad' sort of thing where i can expand on related ideas in outline form really fast... the main downside is printing is pretty programmer centric right now by default and it takes a bit of xml/xsl scripting to get truly usable output on paper currently. If theres interest i could share a few of the transforms i have that clean up the output data (contact at dbuchhofer@REMOVEgmail.com) if you want. Sawyer
I have tried many different note taking systems but I like paper the best its just so easy. And I use Quickbooks which is a necessity AFAIK.

shaneis
If you use Thunderbird for your email client, there is a GREAT plugin called Lightning...If you don't use Thunderbird, you should. There are also many other plugins for Thunderbird at the Mozilla site, and they're FREE I tell you, FREE! Lightning - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2313 Again, it's free, and much more secure than microshaft's hack/ virus/ spyware magnet - Outlook.
