Construction animation

Could anyone give me some pointers on where i would start for making an animation of buildings being constructed??? Basically i want a terrain and then an animation of a building being built on that terrain

there is couple of ways that one can do that... One there is a plug called "grow" from digimation if my memory serves me correctly that does a pretty good job and is very easy to learn. However in saying that, it is pretty limiting if you want to do something specific. It automates the process but does not allow you to have much control. Two, you could right a script that would be secific to your needs but it is not that simple. i do recollect in the past somebody posting a script on this site and i tested and it worked really well so if you search for it i am sure it is still here...
