how to select these faces quickly

Select the main big polys, then Ctrl - I to invert selection?

Or is teh model more complex than your image?

Or windowing around each 'strip' with CTRL held down

select desired faces only once and save them as "named selection"

give them any name you like , and from now on whenever you are in on the "face" sub-object you can call them back easily from the named selection set you choosed.

its a trick....

 

after u chamfer the edges... do an invert selection... now hold ctr + clik the face selection button under comand panel.. u got me ? it works,,,, i use this trick everyday,,

hi anvar i was looking for ur trick only

but i think if i followed ur steps i was left with all faces selected except for the one in the centre

all other faces including the big ones and smaller chamfered ones are selected

i think u missed a step somewhere

can u put up some screenshots or write in more detail
