Gender0 - just put the link in your favs and check it now and then.

Craig - too much stress...

Worrying where the next job is comming from, too much touting for fresh work.

Doing the admin side of the job - loads of paper work, tax bills etc

Working alone - i missed my collegues and friendly office banter etc

I didn't like the motivation process, too easy to stay in bed or watch telly

I worked nasty irregular hours. lost my social life. Girlfriend at the time didn't get a look in.

Didn't actually make enough money off it to make it worth my while.

Basically, i hate the whole stress of it. i absolutely love the job i do now working for a regular firm of bosses. They pay is decent and regular (pluss bonuses), good office life, get what kit i basically want, hours are good etc etc.

if i won the lottery i'd work this same job for free :)

* Clients expect fast delivery of a high degree of quality these days, usually of the cg kind. dont want to keep loosing out to other architects do you?

* cost of s/w and h/d can be offset from a job and effectively paid for by one job "

Lol..thats great advice. You obviously really know how to sell yourself. I'm gonna pinch those sentences word for word!
