jman0
I would like to find out what Printing Accounting software architectural firms are using. Our company has a couple large format plotters, a large format scanner and a few ordinary run-of-the-mill printers for highish volume A4's and A3's. They've a business plan to start a printing shop and are going to be in need of some software solutions. The plan is to operate the printers as it's own business. So they're looking into printer accounting software that can interoperate with a database, probably MySQL i think. Also there'll be a website for customers to order prints online. I am suggesting recycling our existing windows server for the print shop to use as their print server; however the IT guy doing the database stuff wants to go all Linux, using CUPS for a print server. I don't know if our plotters will work under CUPS. Nor do i know if there is very good print accounting software that's Open source. Does anybody have advice for these things?
