jtroupe
About 50% of the time when I am rendering, Max just closes. It doesn't give me an option to save or anything, just disappears. I am just rendering test scenes, so nothing huge at all. And it doesn't happen all the time. And no connection I can see between what I am rendering. Any ideas? Crazy Homeless Guy
i also faced same problem as you. i'm using max 9 sp2 32 bit. i thought it was my mother board problem. ( i'm using asus p5k motherboard, intel core 2 quad 6600 and 4 gb ram. what is you computer spec?). then i install max 8. and never had the problem after that. thanks harris http://tukang3d.blogspot.com -your archvis solution- are you using the 3gb switch, win64, or vista? win xp with basic config can not access the amount of ram in your machine. mmowry
check your display drivers, open GL works better than Direct 3D That's for sure! Nothing but crashing w/ Direct 3D - though it seems to be machine specific. Anyone had any luck w/ nVidia's Maxtreme drivers? I've never been able to get them to work better than openGL. -Michael
jtroupe
Thank you for all your responses. My computer specs are intel dual quad core processor, 3 gb of ram, xp professional, nvidia quadro fx 3500. What kind of driver would you recommend for the nvidia quadro fx 3500 256 mb??? if you could provide me with a link to that would be great.
