studio2s
All of a sudden, I am getting black boxes all over my rendering. I have had the similar thing before when I do very large renderings. I have probably done 100 tests at this size and camera set up. The only difference is that I added new geometry and now I have black boxes. Any idea? studio2s
FYI.... Don't use fast reflection if you have small objects reflecting on a surface.
Jennifer
That was the reason for the black areas, I take it?
studio2s
Yes. After about 2 hours of trial and error, I realized it was limited to one material. I rebuilt the pieces (because I had imported them, and I wanted to make sure there was no error there). I varied dang near every setting I could find. Ultimately, I went back into my material and it dawned on me that it was interpolating nothing with nothing. It was trying to make a reflection from objects that were too thin, so the sample area was in conflict. I suggest that if you are using fast reflections for speed and you are getting a good result, continue to do so unless you come across this problem. The time saving is worth it.
