getting ready to build

ok guys, getting ready to build my computer.

 

my part list is as follows:

 

Motherboard

Gigabyte GA P31-DS3L, iP31 Express, S 775, PCI-E(x16), DDR2 667/800 MHz, SATA II, ATX

 

CPU

intel Core 2 Duo E4300, Socket 775, 1.80 GHz, 800MHz FSB, Allendale Core, 2MB Cache, Retail

 

RAM

1GB Corsair Value Select, DDR2 PC2-5300 (667), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-15

I am really unsure what graphics card to go for.. not looking for a super machine (mainly for autocad), the chosen board will allow some expansion later on.

 

also is it wise to has a floppy drive?

From what i know AutoCAD does not take advantage of the dual core processors so make sure processor is the fastest core in your price range. Also, 2GB of RAM is a must. Personally, I have not noticed a big difference in performance in video cards when doing CAD. You could even get away with using the onboard video card if the MB has one. These statements above being only for a CAD station not a rendering station.
