Lee Eagle
Hey Guys, I am a newbie to Max and Vray, so forgive my work in advance :-) I built this room from a picture I saw, I would like to know how "bad" it is and how can it be improved... Any reply would be great

baba147
its excellent for a newbie... great job...i guess, you are going to be a very well known CG artist one day.. keep it up... a few things which need to be corrected: 1. I am not sure if the yellowish thing is bed...if it is bed then it needs more details...it doesnt look like it is bed... 2. The dark brown carpet needs more detailed displacement...decrease the size of bumps/displacement...also increase the height of displacement... use vraydisplacement if havent done so already... 3. The picture of garden outside doesnt look right...it seems as its painted on the wall...i think the picture's perspective doesnt match with perspective of your camera...move the picture or all objects so that the grass plane seems aligned horizontally to your floor... 4. wall textures seem blurry... PAWUK
Not 'bad 'at all, what lighting set up are you using , if you haven’t already try putting some colour into your direct light to give it some warmth. Agree on the texturing. The bed needs working on ruffle up the sheets abit maybe drape something over the end. Here’s a tutorial on cloth modelling. http://www.evermotion.org/index.php?unfold_exclusive=135&unfold=exclusive Have you missed out the wall behind the mirror or do you have a window in the walk in cupboard, you have light hitting the hung clothes and also light running along the floor. If it’s a cupboard light then the light colour should be more yellow Any way top marks for your first attempt Keep plugging
